Default What Skills for Elite Areas?

I'm thinking about starting to look for groups moving through elite areas such as FoW, UW, and DoA. What kind of builds are common for necromancers doing those sorts of areas?

My necro is not my first PvE character, and a lot of my unlocks have come via Balth faction, so my skill selection on my necro is fairly limited. I'd like to fix that, but I can't just unlock everything....

Depends on how you want to do them. If you want to join random "speed clear" PuGs then you simply look on PvX wiki for the builds used in that and hope your team won't fail at their very one-dimensional roles.
If you do it with a group of friends or guildies then you may decide to run something similar or construct your own builds.

Either way, common roles for Necromancers are SS Curses, AP-MoP and Orders.

Playing through the campaigns and unlocking skills as you go should enable you to have a fairly broad selection.
Important stuff are:
Spiteful Spirit, Barbs, Mark of Pain, Assassin's Promise, Order of Pain, Dark Fury, Order of the Vampire
I suppose Feast of Corruption and to an extent, Arcane Echo are kind of important to some PuGs. Everything else is generally filler and looks to maximise the power of those skills or give you enough energy to use them.

www.pvxwiki.com has most of the Flavour of the Month stuff.
